Time flies when you're having fun, right?

I suppose I will just deem myself blogger-constipated. I will never be regular here. Anyway, here is my dump from the last little while.

I can't believe I haven't posted since February!! Mostly, it's because I stalk others via Facebook and blogs. And, maybe because I've been pregnant, too. So, I shall look back at pictures to see what's happened since then.

January

First of all, I never posted about birthdays in January. Britt turned 28, and Emilee turned 4. For Britt's birthday, I made him a delicious cake with strawberry filling and frosted with whipped cream. I think he said something about wanting that every year for his birthday now. We went to zoolights that night to celebrate.

For Emilee, we decided to have a party with some of her little friends. It was a prince/princess party - though we weren't planning on dressing up at all, Emilee chose to wear her princess dress the whole day. I stressed out a lot and spent long hours determining what to do. Thanks to the internet, I came up with some good things. Looking back, I think things went rather well.

Emilee waited and waited for people to come to her party.

This is the cake Emilee wanted me to make. We found the idea on the BettyCrocker website. I tried assembling the cake the day before the party because I thought that would reduce my stress. Well, the picture on the left shows the day before...I had to prop things and pray that the whole thing would not fall apart before the party. Luckily it survived until the party.

Britt finished the picnic table we'd been working on. He forced, er, asked, a friend to help finish it after luring his family over to dinner. The kids were able to christen the table that night. *It's come in quite handy since then. We've used it inside and outside. I'm glad Britt took the time to work on this. He is good at thinking about what to have for the kids.

February

Britt ran his first 5K. He enjoyed the run (and the runs to prepare for it). I am now a little nervous for him wanting to do more. ;) The kids and I did not go to the race, but we did cheer for him with signs when he got home.

Valentine's day: I made Britt chocolate truffles with Emilee's help.

March

Our winter garden consisted of snap peas and broccoli. We were excited and grateful for all that it produced. I think we owe a lot of the success of our gardening so far to the prayers we've had for it.
Britt and I have each taken Emilee to Home Depot for their child/parent craft day. Here are pictures when I took Emilee.

The week before Easter, we made cookies with some friends. The kids liked making/decorating, but they definitely did not last the whole time. The moms got to finish it up. And, I think the kids tried to eat as many cookies as possible each time we were preoccupied. It was fun, though.
Oh, and Logan decided he likes to vacuum. He really only does one small patch at a time. We'll work on that one.
Easter egg decorating happened after getting back in town and after the General Young Women broadcast. Let's just say we were all a little tired, but we did it. Actually, after we started actually coloring the eggs, I think the kids were fine. In fact, they would have dyed dozens of eggs if they had them. The kids were super excited the next morning with the payout after the hunt.

April

[I'm getting tired tonight doing all of this, but I hope that for you who are readying, this goes a lot faster.]

April must have been busy, but I've got very few pictures to prove it. :)
Britt worked on another project all in one evening to produce a t-ball stand for the kids. He let Emilee help him put things together. It was funny because we thought she would be more interested than Logan in hitting the ball, but it was really the other way around. There are videos to come, so check back again.

And, if you've made it this far, you're doing better than I am. I can't stay awake any longer, but I will try to finish things up in the next few days. One thing about being pregnant: I feel like I can't get much done because I'm so tired all of the time. Staying up late is a lot harder than it used to be.

We're outnumbered!

For those who did not see on Facebook, our family is expecting baby number 3.

We are excited but also have mixed feelings. Of course we can't wait to meet the sweet spirit coming to join us. However, the thought that we will be outnumbered is a little intimidating.  We're about 12 weeks into this pregnancy. I can't wait to get a little more energy and to stop feeling so yucky (especially in the evenings).

Emilee and Logan came with me to my last OB appointment (a week ago). I figured we would manage somehow. I knew  it would be hard to keep Logan from running out of the exam room (since he kept leaving when we went to Emilee's last doctor's appointment). I thought I prepared myself by bringing snack and his favorite books from the library. I explained to Emilee why we were going and hoped that she would be excited about it.
As it turned out, the most chaotic part was not in the exam room, it was in the bathroom when  I had to leave a urine sample. Emilee chose to wait outside on a chair which was fine with me, but I didn't trust Logan out in the hallway, so I brought him in with me. The bathroom has a single toilet  with the door opening to the mini lab area where the MA is. As soon as I sat on the toilet, Logan opened the bathroom door. Argh!! I quickly reached and closed the door (with my pants down!!). I told Logan he couldn't do that, so of course, he smiled and went right back to do it again. That time I pulled up my pants before rushing to the door. I knew at that point that I would not be able to take care of things without help. I hollered for Emilee to come help. When she came in, I told her to block the door like a statue so Logan couldn't open it. He still tried, but she did a good job...until...I was explaining to her what I was doing with the cup when she stepped away from the door to see. Logan took his opportunity. I freaked out and told Emilee to get back to the door. So she pushed against it quickly which then got Logan's finger pinched a little. Then he was crying and upset as I was still trying to just finish this "quick" part of the visit.  I decided nothing else will top that for a while. What fun with two kids!! Can't wait for three.
Emilee was a little confused seeing the ultrasound at first. When the baby started moving (like crazy), she got excited. Then the doctor told Emilee the baby was excercising - she liked that. Logan didn't get it at all. They both liked getting glove balloons once the ultrasound was done. Later in the day Emilee asked if she could go with me next time I go to the doctor. I think so. We may have to leave Logan with a friend, though.

Updates by pictures

Since I've procrastinated so long, it's hard to catch up on everything that's been going on. We'll try to group things.

I've been making cakes when I get the chance or have a good excuse. Just fun and fulfilling for me. I will post Britt's and Emilee's cakes later.

Dinner date with our friends. Britt and I went on a couple of dates over the last six months, I think. :)

We also took Emilee to her first movie theater movie. She liked it and still talks about it sometimes. She recently told me she wants to take Logan to the theater now.

I have to stop there for now. I hope to finish up the year with lots more pictures soon. Feel free to probe me for more details on anything.
